New Logo
So as we enter yet another chapter in our photography story, we decided that a new logo was going to be a part of it. Designed with the help of the awesome Sarah Burton at Studio 212 designs, she put up with me going back and forth on draft logos before we came back to pretty much the first one she came up with. What lesson did I learn? Sarah knows me and me own tastes better than I do. After describing what I wanted she conceptualized the logo above and worked tirelessly with me to refine it. We hope everyone likes it as much as we do!
Roll on the next chapter.

Trash the dress
Wow. Wow. Wow. What an amazing day. Amy was the first bride we have worked with to look forward to a rainy day and the potential it would bring for the trash the dress shoot we had today. There are so many amazing pictures that it is so hard to pick just a few for the sneak peek. So there are more than normal. Amy, you were a gorgeous bride on your wedding day, but your trash the dress shoot was stunning. Thank you for being so creative and willing to do anything, especially trashing your amazing dress.
We thoroughly enjoyed the shoot today and hope you did too. The full shoot will be on pictage as usual, so look out for them soon!

Irvine Wedding
So Chris and Amy planned a beautiful wedding that went off without a glitch. Simple. Romantic. Elegant. The best part for us was that we got to be part of it, which is always such an honor. The weather was beautiful and the party with their close family and friends at Mangia in Lynchburg afterwards rounded off a great day. The food there was awesome as always, check out the Gorgonzola pasta when you go visit, you won't be disappointed.
Chris and Amy, thank you so much for allowing us to be part of the day. Amy, we hope you enjoy one of the surprise pictures below that the guys had fun shooting before you got there! As with the majority of our photography, the more spontaneous the events, the more fun we have and the better the images turn out. :)
We can't wait for the trash the dress session that we have scheduled with Amy for next weekend!

Mother's Day
So this year mother's Day has a whole new meaning in the Murtagh household and it is all thanks to our beautiful daughter Catherine, lying sound asleep in my arms as I am blogging. My wife is an outstanding mother and as a short tribute and thank you to her, here are some of my favorite pictures from her maternity shoot and early pictures of our amazing daughter.
Happy Mother's day honey!!!

Family shoot
So today was amazing. A great Mother's Day weekend got started with a large family photoshoot in downtown Lynchburg. I received a phone call from Jimmy a few weeks ago asking about doing a family portrait session that included his family of 4, his brother and his wife, his sister's family of 3 and his mom and her husband. We had 11 people including 3 gorgeous kids who were awesome fun to be around. They made taking the pictures so easy due to all the fun and energy that was in full flow.
Mother nature was very kind to us with perfect temperatures and a breeze that kept everyone cool but didn't interfere with shots. It was also a first for my new 24-70mm f/2.8 lens that arrived this week which is my new favorite toy by far. There were so many great images in this shoot, but here are just a few.
Thanks everybody for a wonderful time today. We hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

Misty and John
This wedding took place on a beautiful Spring evening in Forest. Misty arrived late to the salon, which did not surprise her stylist or bridesmaids but was on time for everything else. A truly beautiful day was full of close friends and family in an intimate gathering that I was glad to be a part of and record for the happy couple.
